Introduction
About Me:
Hello! My name is Hyunah Kim, and I am passionate about fostering a dynamic and inclusive learning environment for students from all backgrounds. With a rich background in global studies from the Chinese University of Hong Kong and current studies in primary education at Queensland University of Technology, I bring a broad perspective and strong dedication to education. I’ve had the privilege of working directly with students across various countries, helping them navigate both academic and cultural challenges.
My Teaching Philosophy:
I believe in creating a supportive and engaging learning environment that encourages students to explore and grow. Education should be tailored to meet the diverse needs of each student, promoting not just academic excellence but also cultural understanding and personal development. By integrating interactive methods and inclusive practices, I aim to inspire curiosity and a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom.
Areas of Growth:
I am continually striving to enhance my skills in digital literacy to better integrate technology into the classroom, ensuring that my teaching methods remain relevant in today’s digital world. Additionally, I am working on expanding my language skills, particularly in Spanish, to broaden my ability to communicate with a wider array of students and their families.
Fun Facts:
I once organized an international potluck day at Well Read English Academy, which turned into a delightful festival of flavors that brought students and their families together from around the globe. I’m an avid hiker and have explored some of the most breathtaking trails in Hong Kong and Australia. I love musical movies and often incorporate music and dance into my teaching to enhance student engagement.
